Tiapapata Art Centre

Local Art Gallery

We enjoy dropping by the Tiapapata Art Centre, located next to the Bahia Temple.  They not only have art displays, but also have cooking demonstrations and classes.

Art Centre and Fale where they teach classes and have cooking demonstrations .

It is fun to enjoy a frozen yogurt and enjoy the art

Visiting Artist - (retired Art Teacher from Sweden)

A visiting artist was doing some pottery pieces of a Samoan Woman.  He would turn them on the pottery wheel and the his wife and the studio owner would glaze them.  The pieces were then fired using a RAKU process.  We got to visit them during the turning phase and just after the glazing phase of the pieces.

A Samoan Woman art piece Karen bought.

They also held classes for handicapped people and had some fun pieces as part of their therapy classes.

Easter Holiday

Get-away to Aga Reef  Resort

Pesega College was on Easter holiday Friday and Monday  We were able to watch General Conference very early in the morning on Sunday and Monday because of the time difference.  A few of the Senior Missionaries decided to have  get-away at Aga Beach resort on the south east corner of the island Friday and Saturday.

Waterfall on the way

We stopped to check out a waterfall tucked away by a fale  that we had not seen before on our way out to the resort.  Surprising what you find just off the main road!

The Aga Beach Resort is  nestled just below this steep hill on the ocean, and we enjoyed a bungalow right on the water (especially at high tide).

Karen lived it up the spacious room and the deck overlooking the ocean

Feeling happy on the deck in paradise!

The snorkeling was fun, and we spent time by the pool right afterward.

Bud was in his element with the kayaks on the property.

Guys on the kayaks

  Kayaks are equal opportunity!

Always fun to hang out by the pool.

Girls chilling out

Eating is almost our favorite pastime, especially with these views!!

There was a huge landslide right down the road from the resort.  They were clearing an area around the slide to get traffic through.
