The send off at the airport
The luggage seemed to multiply as we tried to get it checked in!We loved having our family see us off at the airport, though it was hard to say goodbye! It seems like just yesterday we were the ones sending Trenton off on his mission!
Grand-kids are the best!! Trying to get enough hugs to see us through!
Trying to get to New Zealand - Patience is a virtue.
We had an unexpected overnight stay in San Francisco because of our delayed flight. Elder Rees negotiated a stay in a nice hotel. We got extremely well acquainted with both the Seattle and San Francisco airports.
Arrival in New Zealand
On Friday, April 14, we were greeted at the airport by this young man - even with all that luggage, we were in good hands!New Zealand MTC
Our room here may be the best accommodations we have on our mission - and the food is provided also! Not exactly a resort, but very comfortable indeed.
Senior couples -- Oldroyds (Tonga Auditing), Rees' (Samoa ITEP), and Littles (Samoa TVET)
The New Zealand MTC is set on a hill overlooking Auckland. We had some excitement on our first Sunday, as sacrament meeting was interrupted by a fire alarm. Luckily, the weather outside was fine. Our mission president and his wife, President and Sister Howes, took it all in stride.
We love you and miss you! We are wishing we had gotten some more of that hug action!
