Stenciling fabric

Writing, rewriting, and stenciling

Working on Vocational Certification

We had a couple of important meetings this week with the Dean of Applied Science at the National University of Samoa and the Chairman of the Ministry of Commerce over Apprenticeships.  We are trying to establish our vocational area as is own post-secondary Vocational Institute.  This way the students will be able to transfer their vocational certificates directly to a local university (much like taking classes at a Jr. College.)  We are putting together our 50 page application to be reviewed by the Samoan Qualifications Authority, part of the Samoan Government.  We are still in the draft stages but hope to get our application approved by the end of the year.

Stenciling fabric

The Samoans love hand stenciled fabric, and these students in year 11 are learning how to stencil .  There was a bit of a learning curve and a lot of paint spills enroute to this day.  Karen enjoyed helping the class with their stenciling projects.
Stencils can be under the fabric and paint rolled on top.

Some stencils are put on top of fabric
